These patties are good on their own, smothered in mushrooms, served with pasta, as sliders, you name it.
Ingredients
1 pound Ground Italian Sausage
1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste
1 egg
8 slices of Fresh Mozzarella
1/2 cup Pork Panko
3 Tablespoons Butter or Oil
Prepare
Mix together: Italian sausage, tomato paste and egg.
Form mixture into 16 very thin patties.
Place pork panko in a bowl.
Place one slice of fresh mozzarella between two patties and seal around the edges.
Coat patty with pork panko.
Cooking in batches as needed (do not crowd the pan), melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and panfry patties on each side about 4 minutes until browned.
Transfer patties to paper towel lined baking sheet and place in a warm (170-180 degree) oven to hold temperature.
Makes 4-8 Servings.
